I honestly don't know if the button-and-spring retainer plate on the 1961 - 1962 engines makes a difference as far as the actual chain and gears go. so as mentioned earlier, there may be an issue with the retaining plate in the 19 models. It used to be that any timing chain and gear designed for a particular engine could be counted on to be solid and reliable.
